Las Venus Electric
“Halfway Done”

Patience is a virtue, and so too is sticking to your guns. Self-styled “Elder gazeman” Evan Sue-Ping (of MP.G, Las Venus Skyway, and the Love Between) is no stranger to the wild world of Canadian alt/indie rock, and the sound of his latest solo incarnation, Las Venus Electric, fits nicely alongside other recent wall-of-sound, shoegaze-inspired releases. Still, there’s no denying that his latest single, “Halfway Done”, raises the bar and shows the young ‘uns how it’s done. Bolstered by producer/bassist Chris Osti and drummer Roger Travassos, Sue-Ping’s guitar attack makes room for melody and mood, and the trio expertly catches the agitation and uncertainty of our times. There is nothing half-assed about it.
