Sounds We Loved This Year
(Not Released This Year)

We made a list. And then we thought twice.

Year-end lists typically highlight music released in the same calendar year but omit albums and songs from past years that the writers recently discovered, or returned to after a lengthy absence. That was certainly the case for the DOMINIONATED team. While collaborating on our first ever Favourite 50 list, we noticed all the records we enjoyed during the past year that had to be left off because of their age. Whether released last year or last century, our collective 2016 was soundtracked by more than just the sounds of 2016. So it made sense that DOMINIONATED’s look back on the year that was wouldn’t be complete without acknowledging the non-2016 Canadian records that rocked our year.

So we made another list. Here it is.
